Metrilum takes the latest available reference value and uses the documented formula to calculate the share corresponding to elapsed time. Every metric shows its original source, data period and method.

How the running numbers are produced, what they mean and who is behind Metrilum.
Published values are reproduced using the definition and precision of the original source. Many worldwide statistics are expert estimates even at source and may be revised in later releases. The moving final digits on running counters therefore show the pace of the calculation, not person-level, currency-unit or tonne-level precision.
The period from 1 January at 00:00 UTC in the current calendar year to the moment you view the page. Running annual counters return to zero at the start of a new year. Static indicators, such as the number of people without safely managed drinking water, do not reset in this way.
The period from midnight today to the current moment according to the clock on your device. Two people in different time zones may therefore see different daily totals at the same instant.
The Czech version converts US-dollar values into Czech koruna using a Czech National Bank reference rate; the German version converts them into euros using a European Central Bank reference rate. The rate, date and original-source link are listed on the Data sources page. The conversion is provided for easier comparison, not for financial transactions.
